Breaking the chains of sexual sin!
Why are sexual sins so condeming?
The Lord gave me a powerful revelation today on the hold that sexual sins have on people. Why are they so powerful to grip and hold a person in guilt and shame? It seems they are among the all-time, best-selling weapons that Satan uses against countless individuals around the world today!
Guilt and shame are known to tear a person to pieces spiritually. They make you feel guilty, separated from God, they rob you of your faith and rips you to pieces. They break God’s children down piece by piece, robbing them of their joy, peace, confidence and pure conscience. They are also valuable tools that demonic spirits use against a person in the forms of mental torment and harassment.
Furthermore, it seems that those caught in this trap find it hard to open up and talk about their struggle or failure with others. Almost everybody finds it hard to even admit that they are struggling in the area of sexuality, even when it seems almost everybody else struggles with it!!
I guess the key question is, why are sex-related sins so embarrassing?
This intense embarrassment is not a fleshly nature, but rather the workings of unclean spirits. “Who told you that you were naked?” God asked Adam and Eve, thus giving us a clear indication that Satan or one of his unclean spirits were telling Adam and Eve that they were naked, and thus should be ashamed of themselves! Shame did not enter the world until this moment, and it came about when someone (a spirit) told Adam and Eve (through their thought-lives) that they were naked, and therefore made them ashamed of themselves.
Genesis 3:11, “And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked?”
They were so ashamed, that they not only covered themselves, but also hid in the garden from God!
Genesis 3:10, “And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.”
Notice how shame brought a dreaded fear of God! Before that moment, there was no fear of God, at least not the type of fear where a person is scared and wants to distance themselves from God! This is exactly what happens when people are fearful of having committed the unpardonable sin… they become afraid of God and feel that He is out to punish them!
Also notice how even Adam was ashamed of his body, and didn’t want God (his own creator) to see him naked! It shouldn’t surprise us when we see how the enemy tries today to make our sexuality shameful in the same way. Obviously, God has made sex beautiful, but Satan wants us to be ashamed of it, and when we partake in sexual sin, it becomes an open door for a heavy burden caused by guilt and shame to move in on us. Unclean spirits then use this to their advantage and bring much bondage and torment.
So why do unclean spirits work so hard to keep a person ‘locked/shut up’ concerning their failure or struggle? He does not want them to open up and uncover the darkness in their soul in which guilt and shame have their strongest grip. God’s Word is clear that confessing our faults to one another can bring about and promote healing in one’s life:
James 5:16, “Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed…”
From experience, many (including myself) will testify to a powerful healing concept of simply admitting to another believer what your faults have been. It seems to lift a heavy load when a person brings something that’s kept them bound for years, out into the open. There’s a tremendous release that many feel when they simply confess their struggle or failure to another!
So why are sexual sins so embarrassing? The unclean spirits who are taking advantage of the person through guilt and shame do NOT want you to open up about your failure, and expose the darkness by which their weapons (guilt and shame) are able to do their work.
Guilt and shame have their strongest grip when kept in the darkness of a person’s soul, and when a person brings something out into the light, it brings light into the situation and things such as guilt and shame tend to lose their grip on that person. That is why the enemy works so diligently to keep a person from opening up about their sexual failures and struggles.
Embarrassment is simply a tool used by the enemy (who works through his army of unclean spirits - See “Our Direct Enemy”) to keep a person from opening up and seeking freedom from their struggle or past failure.
Don’t fool yourself, just as the enemy can work to tempt us, he can also work to keep us from admitting our faults by making us feel embarrassed over what we’ve done. It’s merely Satan’s weapon of choice to keep our souls in darkness!
Let me ask you this, if you saw the same struggle that you’re facing, in another brother or sister in Christ, would you make a big deal about it? Providing of course, that they have either turned from it, or are trying very hard to turn from it? Would you beat them up as much as you beat up on yourself? My guess is that you would probably think nothing of it!
Behind many sexual related struggles and failures, lies unclean spirits. They often enter through sexual defilement, and it is not uncommon to find them behind many sexual struggles. However, before these unclean spirits can be cast out, the minister must first know about them. Many deliverances are either not complete, or have failed simply because the person hasn’t opened up with the minister about everything that needed to come fourth. This is why it is important to bring up such failures and struggles when going through a deliverance. Even if you have repented of those sins, there may be spirits lingering that must still be driven out.
I have been doing MMA for about 2 years now. Best decision of my life. It has not only changed the way I look, but it has changed the way I think and view things, given me awesome new friends, and a completely new lifestyle. These are a few things I have learned and I would like to share them.
You must change the way you think about food. It must be less of a self satisfaction, “Oh that tastes good” glutton thinking, and more of a “I need to eat to fuel my body for purpose” thinking. Once you get past that then getting in shape and dieting will be easier for you, as it was for me. You just gotta renew your mind. When I think that I am hungry, I would rather prepare a good healthy meal than get fast food or something, on the regular. I know its easier but if you take your time to prepare a good meal then your body will thank you by giving you more energy throughout your workouts. I know sometimes when I go out and eat with my wife, when I get into the gym the next day, I am regretting what I ate because my body tells me and I feel more tired. The more you go to the gym the more your gonna regret your bad decisions outside of the gym, its a great bad habit killer. If you wanna stop eating bad, drinking, or smoking, then you will definitely feel the effects of those things in the gym and you wont like it, naturally you will want to cut back on those things to make your gym experience more enjoyable. Water must be consumed all day throughout the day. There should always be a water bottle near you to sip and drink from. Cut out sodas as well, its just high fructose corn syrup with fizz, fuel the machine not your urges.
I also dont believe in “Dieting” (eating right for a desired amount of time with a goal in mind) I do believe in changing your food input permanently and eating healthy forever. (with the occasional cheat meal of course) By doing that, you are permanently fueling your body for a purpose, which isnt timed nor limited.
I honestly recommend going to an MMA gym and signing up, not to fight or whatever right away, but for the fitness aspect of it, Yea the first week is tough but walking on the treadmill watching tv just isnt cutting it anymore. **** those mindless rat wheel workouts, people need the truth and that type of working out, although profitable for companies, doesnt get you where you want to be. If it did, then everyone would be doing it, but currently it doesnt and that is why the most used new years resolution is to get in better shape. You need Training! Someone to push you when your tired, and the workouts are fun while also learning MMA and Punching and Kicking stuff. A little expensive but its definitely worth it. Usually $60-$200 per month depending on the gym and the trainers.(More well known UFC fighter gyms are the most expensive.) I have had my friends come train with me, my wife trains with me, and even my Dad! If you find the right place its good for the whole family.
I work at the gym now so I usually spend all day at the gym & I would like to share my schedule.
[M-W-F Striking & Tu-Th Grappling (Wednesdays & Saturdays are Full MMA days and sparring.)]
I wake up, then eat, I train @ noon, after my first training session I eat + protein shake, then bible studies/xbox from 2pm to 5pm at the gym & during that time I snack on fruit or little meals to keep my body out of “Starvation Mode”. I help teach the kids MMA class @ 5, then train from 6-9pm and then eat dinner and hangout/watch movies with my wife or game until bed. This is usually my day by day.
Its a new way of life and a new view. Its all about Metanoia brothers and sisters, you have to renew your mind and think differently. I wish you all the best. This goes out to all of you who are out of shape who think there is no hope in ever getting in shape. I have been there… I walked into the MMA gym for the 1st time 2 years ago with my head low and low expectations, but an open mind. I was almost 250lbs when I started that day, with no experience with MMA or anything other than wrestling in the yard with my friends occasionally. I trained for 6 months and I lost over 80lbs, dropping a ton of fat and then weighing 170lbs. And I couldnt believe it, and I actually had abs, which when I was really fat I thought wouldnt ever be possible. Then about 6 months later I had my 1st fight and was one of the best times in my life because its something I never saw myself being able to do. A huge milestone forsure, which only pushed me to continue training. I also couldnt believe that as I had no experience before that year of training.
I just want everyone to know that no matter how you view yourself, or no matter where you rate yourself when you look in the mirror, there is ALWAYS a way to change it, just like there is in any situation. You just have to find a way and have the will to see it put into action. Keep your head up and your heart focused. Remember, you are not only training your body, but your mind and spirit. Find the unison of the three and find true happiness.
Also these videos could help you out if you seek truth.
I am going to try and blog a little more, and just share my thoughts as a kinda online journal. I will update as much as I can.
I saw Heaven opened, and behold, a white horse; and He that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns; and He had a name written that no man knew, but He Himself. And He was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood, and His name is called, The Word of God. And the armies which were in Heaven, clothed in fine linen white and clean, followed Him upon white horses. And out of His mouth goeth a sharp sword with which He shall smite the nations, and He shall rule them with a rod of iron; and He treadeth the wine press of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And He hath on His vesture and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
